Welcome on my blog again. Today some samples on product photography by Influence Photography & Media Ltd. We concentrated on low key glass photography this time. It gives really good effect when you’d like to show shape and dimension. Low key photography creates some mystery because not everything is visible and our imagination starts to work.

Let me explain lighting setup briefly for this shoot. I used two large softboxes (on couple of occasions it was just one on the left of the of the subject). The power ratio of them will need to be set up individually as it depends of many aspects. The main reason will be distance to the subject, ambient light in the studio and lens you use for the shoot. In addition the type of glass you shoot has big impact too. It definitely needs some experimenting but finished effect is well worth it.

This time we ended up shooting some beer for our local distributor. They wanted something special for their website and we decided to help them out. We wanted to achieve nice look that would correspond with the idea of having the pint in the pub. No white background this time; we decided that we will do it in the darker version and looks like it worked nicely. IT took us some time to get the set right but as somebody said if you want to do something do it right at first attempt; it paid off.
